Pavithra, in 2024 posted on her social media a video of her and Darshan for the celebration of their decade long relationship. This created an online uproar and Darshan’s wife Vijaya Lakshmi asked Pavithra to remove those pictures and warned to sue Pavithra. Later Darshan’s legal team revealed that Darshan’s legal wife is Vijaya Lkashmi, though Pavithra and Darshan were in a live-in relationship simultaneously. This resulted in people criticising both the actors and it created a huge uproar on social media.

Pavithra and Darshan were the main preparator and blood stains of Renuka Swamy was found on their clothes. Pavithra was held at Bengaluru Central Prison and initially her bail was refused by the court, but later she was bailed in December 2024.
