Death Of Max Baer

Mr. Baer passed away in Hollywood, California, on November 21, 1959, at the age of 50. He was found dead in his room at the Roosevelt Hotel with 27 cents in his pocket, dead of a heart attack. He was preparing for filming from commercial work the very same day. When shaving, he had a heart attack and called for a doctor to a room in the hotel, where he ultimately died at the hospital. Baer is interred in Saint Mary’s Mausoleum in Sacramento, California. Baer’s legacy is kept alive through his posthumous induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1995 by his influence on the sport of boxing.
